Our Trip to the North Shore

By Shannen Espelien Leave a Comment

When Hubby received an invitation to his friend’s wedding on the north shore of Lake Superior, I didn’t expect to have such a fabulous time. Don’t get me wrong, I anticipated having a good time, but when it came time to pack up and head home, we all wanted to plan out a real vacation so we could stay longer! I came home relaxed, and ready to tackle the Laundry Monster.

Without further ado, a little peak into our one night stay on the North Shore:

Hanging out at the wedding reception: Care Bear, Little Miss, and Tulip is under my nursing cover

I love her big, blue eyes, masha Allah

Little feet peaking out!

The chocolate fountain they had instead of a traditional wedding cake. It was amazing!

Little Miss really liked the chocolate fountain. A sugar crash was in the works after this point.

MashaAllah, we enjoyed the hotel room with the fireplace and a private patio. We usually go cheap-o with hotels, but our lack of planning left us with a nicer room. It was a nice change of pace, actually.

The married couple planned a bonfire on the pebble beach. The waves from Lake Superior were lapping up on the beach just a few feet away. Many times I just looked around and thought, “SubhanAllah, what a beautiful place this is!”

After Fajr, Hubby and I sat on the private patio of our hotel room and watched the sun rise over the lake. SubhanAllah, it was gorgeous.

Sun peaking up! I always forget how fast the sun seems to rise over the horizon once it appears!

Little Miss liked to be outside, too. I love her hair flowing in the wind in this picture, mashaAllah!

In sha Allah we’ll be able to go again in the future. There are so many things to see, do, and experience!
